    This has the worst sets I've seen in a long, long time. The mummy's tomb looks more like room you'd rent out for a kid's birthday party. Almost every outdoors scene is in front of a clear backdrop.

    The story is the heart of Three Outlaw Samurai. It's a tale of corrupt power and common nobility, and of people pushed to extremes. The action is quite good. The characters are interesting. I liked Kyojuro Sakura (Isamu Nagato, the Eli Wallach of the trio) the best, though his character beats felt like they were crammed between other scenes the director found more important.
