Is this Scorsese's answer to MCU films? Is this "cinema"?
This film is a joke. It's a stale rehash of Scorsese's gangster films.
If there's ever a man stuck in a genre, it's Scorsese with his angry male protagonists. Pot meet kettle. (I say this as someone who doesn't particularly like MCU films and actually saw the merit of Scorsese's comment, before anyone comments how this influenced my rating before I saw The Irishman.)
Also, I'm assuming most of the budget went to the de-aging CGI, but sweeties, I have seen The Deer Hunter and Taxi Driver. I know what De Niro looked like in his 30s and this wasn't it. Fucking joke.
