Don’t Breathe has everything a little horror/thriller film should. It’s tense, surprising, and genuinely unsettling. This was my second viewing and I’m even more impressed with how economic it is. The first few minutes set up the stakes, the kids break into the house and the audience sees the layout (some excellent camerawork/editing here), and we’re off!
Another thing that’s so enjoyable is how original it feels. There are countless stalker…
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think they should have messed with the book bound in (presumably human) skin and wrapped in barbed wire.
I’m not the biggest fans of nonstop remakes but it had been over 30 years since the original and this (seemingly) was more of a genuine retelling of the story than a reboot/sequel. Either way it felt fresh while occasionally winking at the original film/series.
These guys are good! I wish they got do more original stuff but I’m in the bag for their next several projects.
