1966. A screenwriter sits in his studio apartment banging on a typewriter. He pulls the page out of the machine and reads:
"CLOSE UP of mail slot: SALLY LAMB... the three goons use knives to saw off Lamb's legs then escape through her window. CUT TO: Daily specials board at greasy spoon diner reading:'Leg of Lamb.'"
The screenwriter crumples up the page and tosses it into the wastebasket. "Damn it, still too subtle!"
