The Irishman

The Irishman ★★★★

Out of the big directors that blew up during the 70's (Spielberg, Coppola, Scorsese, Ridley Scott, George Lucas), Martin Scorsese is the one who's never had a low in his career. His early character movies along with his mob movies, to now with his more comedic movies like The Wolf of Wall Street and his version of a kid's movie with Hugo. Spielberg is probably the closest to him, but with movies like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Ready Player One and 1941, he has had his fair share of bad movies.

This felt very much like Goodfellas with the narration, the way it was edited and the energy that you could feel while watching the movie. I don't like it as much as I hoped I would, but this is a movie I think will grow on me and I'll enjoy more on repeat viewings.
