Faith lost in ourselves
Can be revived by machines
That save hope
How each major scene is able to build upon itself is outstanding. Feels as if the stakes get bigger and bigger as the threat feels more unstoppable. The score the movie helps amplify the dark and tense atmosphere that contributes to the weight of many scenes throughout the movie.
The time devoted to John and Sarah really helps you understand the characters fears of mechanization and dehumanization of mankind. As the story goes on, we see their clashing perspectives on the situation evolve into something that taps into our obsession with parts regarding the human condition and how it evolves over time. I think it’s pretty ironic that the terminator (Arnold) begins showing more loyalty and compassion in subtle behaviors that Sarah and John develop in their relationship again slowly once they are reunited.
A movie still about the rediscovery of our humanity and not ignoring it for the sake of survival. We can still remain hopeful while facing the monsters of the world. Oh yeah, the action in the movie rules and Sarah Connor has shoulders for DAYS. 😊💙
