When I watched this movie for the first time as a kid I was really shocked and kinda traumatized. Mostly because when I rent it with my father at the video club, I though this was a totally different movie.
This is the second time I've seen this film since this sort of childhood trauma and this is clearly a masterpiece. An ode to the imagination, a poetic fable with one of the best production design that I've ever seen. The pale man and the faun are two of the best looking creature/monster I saw in a movie. The characters are very good too and the cinematography is gorgeous.
A great film and maybe the best work from Del Toro
