You ever pause a movie while streaming to buy a physical copy? I truly don't understand why the internet hasn't lost its damn mind over this movie.
If you give even a single solitary fuck about animation please please please watch this movie. I think "like nothing you've ever seen before" gets overused, but this truly is like nothing you've ever seen before.
The great joy here is absolutely in the style, but I think the story is also thoroughlyβ¦

The first animated masterpiece of the 2020s?
This is just astoundingly gorgeous to look at and that plays for a lot. But it also made me tear up and I was genuinely unsure of what would happen next throughout which is high praise for a movie that's kid friendly.
I can't tell if I think it went on a bit too long and there were too many ups and downs or if its just an epic with a lot ofβ¦

The Killer of Dolls 1975
I love it when a 70s genre movie just has a mood board of ideas and strings them together with a series of violent sequences and drops a full length music video in the middle for good measure.
For real though this is great and you should look for it if you're at all interested in European genre movies of the 70s, mannequins in horror, gender fuckery and panic, and very "I read some psychoanalysis once" scripts.
