    Don't Look Up

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

it was painfully cringe worthy and about as funny and coherent as a bot on twitter but instead of the chaos adding to the joke like the bots, this movie just feels like a train wreck of bitterness. it's like if your centrist aunt on facebook who supports lgbtq+ and call herself liberal, but thinks "blm" and "defund the police" is too far; made a movie. it's not not entertaining but every single scene and joke goes on too long…

beautiful, maybe the best sci fi cinematography of all time, still kind of slow when the source material is super cool but i get they're "setting things up" and oscar isaac is hot

    Paddington 2

If you had told me the first film could be improved upon, I would have been skeptical, but now I'm sure it's possible because this sequel did it. I usually hate unnecessary continuations of already good stories, but, Paddington 2 is the only exception. It's a movie of unbelievable hilarity, heart, style, composition, and wit. It's in every way a perfect film, from pace, cinematography, characters, and plot. It's not a movie anyone should miss.

I don't think a better movie has come out since Spiderverse, proving once again children's films simply do it best sometimes. But this is by no means a movie for just kids, it's pure perfection and I couldn't name one thing I don't like about it.

    The Aeronauts

A very charming and stunning movie, definitely worth the watch all though im glad it wasn't one i had to go to the cinema to see. Felicity Jones is just a powerhouse of an actress and i demand the world of film give her more and better roles. Eddie Redmayne always brings his a-game, and i just love the chemistry of these two, ever since TTOE. this movie gave me anxiety over heights like dunkirk made me nervous about water.

my brother watched this recently and it got me thinking about this masterpiece of cinema again. not that it's stomach-churning story doesn't cross my mind at least twice a week. it's a movie you can see only once and never ever forget (though i've seen it many times). it's visceral, it's emotionally stressful, and it's viscous on your psyche. it's what good cinema should be. i love a movie that makes me feel like utter shit after because that means…

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

I have been thinking so much about this movie, and now that i've seen it three times, i'm so very stuck on how i feel about it. one part of me agrees with the many criticisms it has received and with each watch little things annoy me more. and really the very thought of palpatine fucking ANYONE is laughable. but i don't want to hate this movie. i love this series, i love these actors, i love what the characters…

  • 1917

Saw this last night and i've said "wow 1917 was so good" at least 47 times to my poor boyfriend. but like, 1917 was so good. it's just a movie that's clearly crafted with so much hard, back breaking work from the scenic designers, artists and crew members and every bit of that labor translates to a piece of art. i love sam mendes and this movie was clearly a passion project for him, and it just reminds you of…

    Knives Out

Maybe I saw this way too late in its hype train and expected more, but I came out of this movie feeling genuinely just underwhelmed. It was fun! Most of the time, but really it felt like Rian Johnson didn't know what story he really wanted to tell, and the reveal of what happens was about as predictable as I am when you tell me not to eat all the chips before my dinner comes. I'm gonna eat the chips.…

    Star Wars: The Last Jedi

You know what- I rewatched this movie and I was so wrong to spend the last year shitting on this film. It's honestly amazing, Rian Johnson made an incredible second film that took us on a whole new story that didn't follow the same tried and true plot lines of the prequels and OT. And it WORKS! I was a bitter baby and this movie is gorgeous, the characters are expertly fleshed out; and my biggest sadness of ROS is that Rose got cut completely and that's lame bc she's lots of fun to watch in TLJ. Rey super fan, Kylo sux

  • Jojo Rabbit

    Jojo Rabbit

I won't lie, I am a sucker for Taika and he could direct a six hour long movie of him wiping his ass and staring at the camera and i'd probably still find it comedic genius. But i really, truly enjoyed this film. Most of the time the quirkiness of the characters is charming (except when it comes to Rebel, Alfie and Sams characters who are often just annoying). I honestly liked Scarjo but the power house is the charm…
