Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End ★★★★½

I feel that, as time passes, this conclusion to Gore Verbinski's trilogy will be more and more revered by critics & film aficionados. It's one of the most expensive films of all-time, and it feels like it. What's so amazing about this movie is its ambition. It's DARK and insanely violent for a Disney film, and all of it feels natural and serves the story. Every penny of this 2 hour & 49 minute epic feels spent and put to great use. This world is one of a kind & incredibly immersive. The humor works, the characters are great, the visuals are FLAWLESS, Zimmer's score is one of the best EVER, and the set pieces are a sight to behold. For a nearly 3 hour picture, the film is paced beautifully and FLIES BY. The filmmaking on display is just unbelievable and on a whole other level. Verbinski is a VISIONARY and one of the more underrated artists in the business. Give this film a second chance...it deserves it.
