Should surprise no one that the animation of a lesser Ghibli film is the only thing to take away from it. Hands down beautiful to look at, I just wish the characters were better fleshed out and had more engaging chemistry with one another. Music also wasn't bad in of itself but did feel very out of place at moments that didn't really need it in the first place.
Really could have used a longer runtime narrative wise since it ends in what only feels like the first act of something much bigger and special.
