Straight white people really be wilding out like this in "True Events". SMH

  • Censor

    Censor

    ★★★½

This is a very atmospheric and creepy film all the way through, although at times it had a real Tales From the Crypt vibe. Regardless, I appreciate its tying-into a historic film movement that existed in the UK - something I only Iearned about after watching the movie.

Censor really doesn't try to add anything new to the psych-horror genre, but it does hit all the right points for a film of its nature, so I have to applaud that.…

    Open Water

    ★★★

At first I kept thinking this was going to turn into a terrible story line porn from the late '90s. After it didn't, the movie still didn't turn out to be super terrible. Despite it's low quality production and amateur level acting, the movie still does good in creating suspense and dread. The ending, however, was somewhat lazy and unthoughtful, but the post ending credits scene was cool.

Cera vs. Cera. This was funnier the first time I watched it.

  • Gunpowder Milkshake

    Gunpowder Milkshake

    ★★★½

Not bad. Not great. Gunpowder Milkshake is a shameless babe-assassin fun joyride - all thrills, violence, and nothing too deep. Watch this if you wanna shut off your mind for minute and enjoy some action.

  • Pig

    Pig

    ★★★★★

Pig was not at all what I expected, which was a typical revenge flick. The film, however, was exceptional in a very different way. Perhaps a much better way.

It's a beautifully shot and edited film. It's a story of loss composed so subtley and deep. The score adds to the film's existential and depressive mood in a very artistic and poetically satisfying way. Every performance in Pig is golden.

This is a very special piece of modern cinema.

There is no revenge. Only heartache and wonder. This is one of the year's best, no doubt.

My least favorite of the trilogy. Those fake accents were so bad.

  • Black Widow

    Black Widow

    ★★★

The screenplay and some of the dialogue and acting was good, but this one really had some of the most standard action sequences, CGI, and stunt work I've ever seen in a Marvel film.

Extra star for Florence Pugh being casted.

A movie that got better with a second watch. I love the editing, the sincerity, the skate sequences, and the soundtrack/score.
