My 3rd December Horror movie. A John Carpenter film, and one I haven't seen.

This movie is so over the top! Like completely ridiculous, a 90s macho action hero vampire hunting campy sort of film, that really didn't feel like a Carpenter film to me. This is one of those movies that unfortunately isn't very good, but has enough vampire murdering, crossbow shooting goodness that you can just sort of turn your brain off and enjoy it. The acting leaves…

My 2nd December Horror Hunt film.

Well this was a solid movie. I love the 70s Sutherland version of body snatchers, and while this was not as good as that, it was still a good watch. Very effective at building tension, and although they were scarce, the 50s pod effects were pretty neat. Ya I liked this quite a bit, even took me by surprise a few times. There is some special sort of charm that black and white 50s horror movies have that I really enjoy.

Movie #2 of this year's Hooptober adventure.

Wow, I'm so glad I finally got around to watching this one, because I liked it a lot, can't believe I hadn't seen this before now. The fact that this is so good, and isn't even one of Craven's most popular movies, is a testament to how incredible he was.

There is a ton of political subtext going on here, much of which I think is just as effective today as it was…

Movie 6 of my Daily Horror Hunt for August--a horror movie starring an actor before they were famous.

It is definitely fun to see Viggo Mortensen in a role like this, not his usual foray, seemed like he was having fun though. This movie is not great, but honestly it was better than I expected. The best part is easily Leatherface's growing frustration that no matter how damn hard he tried, his little computer lesson would not acknowledge the clown was in fact f-o-o-d.
