Riley’s review published on Letterboxd:
Solid! This is an incredibly messy, often muddled and fairly obnoxious film, BUT one that at the very least does so with a bit of passion, and considering this is *technically* a follow up to one of the worst films ever made i'd say that's the glow up of the century! A lot of the supporting cast unfortunately don't get enough time to shine but Margot absolutely owns everything about this, a lot of the awful quips and male-gaziness found in the character in Suicide Squad are thankfully gone and in it's place is a portrayal that's far more sympathetic and three dimensional rather than just a one note caricature, the level of energy and physicality that Margot brings to every moment she's in does so much heavy lifting here that it's hard for me not to grin. I've seen people compare this to Deadpool and i disagree because unlike that this actually feels like it was written by a human being and not an algorithm based off Reddit forums, but that's a discussion for another time! Overall a decent night out at the pictures!
(As a side note if this completely harmless & dumb film deeply offends you in any way just cause it has a female cast you are a literal baby and really need to get outside, please god just go outside one time i'm BEGGING you)
