  • A Nightmare on Elm Street

    A Nightmare on Elm Street

    ★★★½

This movie is not as good as Spy Kids

  • Little Shop of Horrors

    Little Shop of Horrors

    ★★★½

Steve Martin is the best part of this (besides Audrey II obviously). A good old fashioned fun time.

  • One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

    ★★★½

Glossed over or omitted lot of important plot points from the book to make it more of an Oscar bait picture (successfully of course; it damn near swept the Oscars that year). The acting from Nicholson, Dourif, Fletcher, etc is great but the story misses a lot of the discomfort and evil Nurse Ratched inflicts upon the ward and the sheer helplessness that radiates from each patient. Entertaining but left a lot to be desired.

  • Spiral: From the Book of Saw

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I wish they would have let someone beat the game (I know they were all cops but I mean it woulda been interesting!) but all in all a fun little romp and honestly that’s all you can ask for from a Saw movie!

  • Love & Mercy

    Love & Mercy

    ★★★½

As both a Danohead and a Cusackhead, I enjoyed their respective performances. And as a Wilsonhead, I appreciate the effort they took to show just how much Brian was taken advantage of in his life. The movie itself was eh, and the characters were not necessarily fleshed out as much as they could be in a two hour movie, but I’ll take any excuse to listen to Pet Sounds.

  • Pleasantville

    Pleasantville

    ★★★½

Tobey Maguire has been typecast as a guy who runs around going “woo!” and jumping everywhere. And I love that for him!

  • Galaxy Quest

    Galaxy Quest

    ★★★½

Did exactly what it needed to do; nothing more, nothing less. Silly and fun. Could have used more Shalhoub, but when am I not saying that? There’s only so much you can do with a spoof of something that didn’t take itself too seriously in the first place. Overall a good time.
