I enjoyed this movie! The cast is excellent and Simu Liu is instantly a character you gravitate toward. The “Villian” is one of the better MCU villains and the action choreography sets a new bar in the MCU. It’s got a visual identity that is uniquely different than most of the MCU movies and that makes the action set pieces much more engaging. Definitely one of the better origin movies so far.
Now my one gripe ( and it’s a big one) is that the movie should've been a MUCH smaller scale. In almost all aspects, like actions scenes are more impressive and engaging in the beginning
because of how choreographed and more MA inspired they are, compared to the bit more cgi “big battle field” samey instances at the end. There are a couple plot points introduced about halfway that take away from the strongest aspect of the movie which is the father-son dynamic just to set up the climactic event. The first half is great but the extra fluff near the end really detracts from the emotional beats they were trying to land.
** A Wong show has to happen soon. The dude is just living his life.
