Shoot the Piano Player

Yet another pointless exercise in film from the french new wave directors.

Yet another french film with alien dialogue that even translated felt like I were still reading french off the screen. It's not even Tarkovsky type of dialogue, philosophy and poetry, nor are the words lesser known, it's just so inhuman and draws all the attention away from other aspects. It's almost as if FNW's point is to torture the audience, and it truly feels like the work of an immature film student.

Turns out genre bending and stepping out of conventional frames doesn't necessarily make your film a masterpiece.

Half a star for all the location shooting and that night walk scene.
