Well-produced, fun doc about the record store giant, Tower Records. It's funny that when this doc was made a few years ago, vinyl had been pronounced dead and gone, but now it's returned and as popular as ever. There's even rumors that Tower Records is returning.

Crack: Cocaine, Corruption & Conspiracy 2021
Frustrating Netflix doc that hates America, shifts blame, deepens division. It oversimplifies, romanticizes and doesn't offer any catharsis or solutions to the pain crack created in American communities. I'm an empathetic left-leaning, son of an alcoholic, but the tone of this doc really rubbed me wrong.

Pulp Fiction 1994
Loaded with so many quotable lines. Pulp Fiction is a movie-lover's movie. One of the most memorable movies of all time. It is a decade-defining piece of art. Lively. Spirited. Gripping. A well-balanced story that zigs and zags, shifting pace, distorts time-lines and flirts with menace and humor.

Jackie Brown 1997
Tarantino's most understated and restrained film. Some complain that it's long and slow, but I find it to be a stylish, suspenseful movie. Watching this after Pulp Fiction makes me realize that it's not as invigorating and energetic, but it's still damn good. My favorite sequence is the three scenes with Jackson and Tucker.
