Sahil Thind’s review published on Letterboxd:
An examination of fandom, but overripe and sleep inducing. There are glimpses of style here but it all comes out as too minimalistic (not a bad thing) and clichéd even for Carlos Vermut, who’s the last guy i’ll expect it from given how creatively enticing and narratively strong his previous film Magical Girl was. I do get excited for movies about overdone subjects done by filmmakers whose own version of it has a potential to be special or interesting atleast, and while Quién te cantará is certainly orignal in parts, (the mirror sequences, the glaring issues outside the main plot), it fails to sustain it for its runtime which feels like a slog, and honestly not engaging enough. Here are some good films of 2018 though.
