I will sound repetitive but yeah, the first directly connected MCU series is something refreshing among their products, and without a doubt one of those that will have made the best use of the television format.
I enjoyed a lot the weekly releases because one of its biggest hits was starting right away and without any explanation, and even though there were obvious answers for some people, it was fun to find some surprises and a huge bunch of references.…
It’s logical to compare this series with “the other Haunting” and even though the focus on a family haunted by their past is still here, the differences are also clear. A story about ghosts, about love, about grief, in which the chilling atmosphere is strong but this time at first impression, and it could be debatable, there was more drama than fear.
Certain “paranormal” resources were executed and were a bit confusing as they seemed to work by its own…
A conceptual exploration in the very Pixar style that accompanied by its wonderful music with blue and golden colors took me to an spectacularly animated New York and to bright and unknown scenarios while it made me rethink my life.
I don’t have too much to say. Soul didn’t need to be the most dramatic thing to leave me crying as Pete Docter has me used to but feeling happy after watching it. Excellent choice to finish the year.
Would you get me if I said that the amount of awkward moments and situations caused by the gossip and the dysfunctional communication between these privileged people is charmingly annoying and satisfying?
Specially the main girls’ performances stand out and it feels refreshing, at least among those I’ve seen, that the color palette is so bright in a film like this.
