Samuel Bird’s review published on Letterboxd:
It’s actually quite insane what this film is able to pull off. What impresses me most is the clever alignment with this years events and how it’s incorporated into the story. I also love how when strangers came up to Borat, the film played it as though they knew him based off of what the character did all those years ago and not because they were fans of the film which was actually really well thought out.
The satire was all on point and plenty of themes were touched on. This film couldn’t have come at a better time really. I think I laughed more in this one than the first and also found the emotional narrative moments more impactful so I don’t know, I think I prefer this one a little bit more y’know. WOW WOW WEE WOW.
