"Movies don't create psychos. Movies make psychos more creative!"

It's been a decade or more since I've seen Scream and goddamn does it hold up. From the amazing first 12 minutes or so with Drew Barrymore ("I'm gonna gut you like a fish!" still brings chills), right up until the final shots, I love this movie. Even Jamie Kennedy's goofy nerdy video store clerk works for me.

Towards the end I love Lillard's ridiculous over-the-top performance the most. Such stupid horror fun, but it I love it all.

    HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

This is a fantastic story with some very surprising twists and an outstanding synth score. Alex Essoe is very believable as a struggling actress that makes a…

Film #6 in my 3rd Hooptober Challenge

    #5 of 6 decades (1970s)
#1 of 1 film with a movie theater in it

With a little bit of Lynch and a little bit of Lovecraft, this was not what I was expecting for an early 70s horror film. I went in expecting something Hammer-like with that title, but ended up with a fever dream of imagery and bizarrity(?) that made me wonder why this isn't mentioned more as one of the…
