Some criticisms of the portrayal of how tech in every aspect of our current life might be a bad thing aside (it's the tech guys in charge that are the problem, they're not just flawed people who didn't think through all the implications! sorry, analysis brain cannot be turned all the way off), this is a very fun, enjoyable movie.
Love it but still processing how I feel about so much from the book being changed.
Greater exploration of characters = good. Not entirely knowing what was happening = also good. But I also felt like it was trying to give more answers and closure than there was in the book when I feel like that vague atmospheric mystery was one of the things that was so great about the original story.
Some cool moments but mostly I felt nothing. And for a hyped end of an era movie with a bunch of characters I am super attached to, that's not really a good sign.
I don't know. There were some weird character takes in this movie that didn't get the right emotional touch to them (some played for laughs just cause and really needing to see more evolution to where they were) and I'm also a little mad about who gets centred in this movie.
