Red Dog found dead as Boy is now the greatest Kelpie in cinema history
I love my low budget Aussie sci-fi movies. It's a small but unbelievably potent sub-genre where I have seen some of the most inventive storytelling and filmmaking in years, mostly from debut directors working so finely within their tight financial resources.
That's why I am so bitterly disappointed with this film, because I can see the ambition and the passion from Antaine Furlong, but it is such an incohesive mess.
Sidenote: please let Australians be Australians in Australian movies. Please…
In case you didn't think that Sia made this misguided and embarrassingly offensive film to make her feel better about herself and massage her oversize ego and saviour complex, she literally plays herself in a cameo where she buys percocets and other painkillers off Kate Hudson's drug dealer character to help out earthquake victims in Haiti.
Honestly one of the worst films I've seen in a long time.
