    Mortal Kombat: Annihilation

I still have a soft spot for this film, but it doesn't hold a candle to its predecessor. The effects are worse all across the board. The movie kills Johnny Cage in the first few minutes, the only character with any ounce of comedic relief in his body. I enjoyed, at least, seeing additional MK characters appear. Smoke is neat. The cyborgs are cool. And Jaxx!

Can't get over the plot of this one, though. Kahn isn't allowed to enter…

    Mortal Kombat

Reptile looks like shit throughout most of the runtime, but everyone else looks pretty neat! I've had a soft spot for this movie since I was a kid. And, of course... that theme song is an all-time classic. Amazing.

    Parasite

Hot damn! I loved this. Yes, I've seen the whole "outsider secretly living in the house" thing done before. I've seen countless scenes of people sneaking out of places they're not supposed to be. I've seen movies about less-fortunate grifters pulling off a great hoodwink. I've seen movies about classist issues before. But none quite like "Parasite."

The acting is phenomenal across the board. The director has assembled an incredible ensemble. "Parasite" unravels, getting more and more intense with each…
