I’m many ways I am envious of the lie, specifically the culture that permitted it. Far from logic and close to emotional preservation, it’s duality is powerful because it allows comfort and certainty for Nai Nai and the family.
I listen to the This American Life Podcast and one of their episodes was this real life story from the director Lulu Wang. Even though I essentially knew the detailed story this experience was heartfelt and full of love. I’m so happy I finally watched this.
