Two un-deserved ladies fight to be the Queen's righthand women...
It's funny at first, but becomes depressing as turn of events allows one of them an upper-hand.
That's the thing about Yorgos Lanthimos's films, they start off fun, but in the end there's nothing but despair. Some times it works, other times it bring the film to an unfulfillable halt. I don't know if it works here, but only a re-watch will tell.
In any case, the acting is tight and the cinematography lavishes the film's already lavished production. It's also got one of the best ball room dances, like, ever. I just wished the film would maintain it's wit throughout most of the film, rather than just the first 2/3 of it.
With that being said, it's still one of Yorgos's best films.
