I am dumbfounded, and not in a good way. Army of the Dead is an ambitious and blood-soaked zombie heist film that succeeds at failing to break cliches and instead embraces the flawed rules of a zombie apocalypse film and mixes up with a more ambitious genre that is a hit or miss for me.
Its humor is stale and haphazard and so badly written (seriously, JapAnEAsY??). It is everything I should have expected from a Zack Snyder film, it is so erratic and wild in ways yet predictable in many cases. It is so messy and long that I almost didn't bother to care about any of the characters or events at all, it honestly didn't even need to be that long at all. In the end, this is just your average zombie average disguised in a heist film, but it's 2 and a half hours long so I don't see myself rewatching or remembering anything about this anytime soon.
