Neill Shaughness’s review published on Letterboxd:
Normally I feel a little detached while watching Wong Kar-wai films. I think there is a contemplative nature to them that I find interesting, but not enveloping. I usually feel like I'm watching the characters from a distant bird's eye view, experiencing the films on their intellectual merits rather than their emotional ones. Chunking Express's characters feel so much more engaging. They have such life to them I found impossible not to project myself into the narrative, which is ideal in a love story.
