Apart from the already covered controversies and issues surrounding this film, I surprisingly enjoyed Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood far more than I expected. Featuring a wide-ranging cast, Tarantino’s ninth endeavor focuses mainly on DiCaprio and Pitt, who get a bulk of the screen time, which unfortunately sidelines most other characters. Furthermore, this movie is far too long than is necessary, this being felt most noticeably in the middle of the film. However, these qualms aside, the aesthetics that this film encompasses, alongside fantastic performances (even though some are more limited than predicted), and an incredible ending, Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood with all its strengths and weaknesses is still an enjoyable experience that delivers on what you’d expect.
