    ★★★½

Very fun sci-fi action movie built off the even cooler idea of human body augmentation.

Some great action scenes and the story keeps you interested throughout. Definitely worth a watch.

  • Unicorn Store

    Unicorn Store

    ★★½

I kind of liked the movie, but it did feel like a weird commentary on millenials not being able to grow up and stuff.

Was interesting but didn't pack a punch in a way. Meh

  • Red Sparrow

    Red Sparrow

    ★★

Sexy spy thriller, that feels more disturbing than sexy. Basically Jennifer Lawrence gets sent to the school that invented all things #metoo, and learns some spy stuff on the side. In fact, it would of been a much better movie without the whole weird sex spy element, and just focused on the espionage stuff, which wasn't half bad.

Worth a watch if you're bored, and your mum isn't around to stumble in while you're watching it.

  • A Quiet Place

    A Quiet Place

    ★★★½

Great movie. The film turns something that could be gimmicky into something compelling plot device. The majority of the credit goes to the great acting, which makes it easier to suspend your disbelief and root for a family trying to survive in post apocalyptic world. Worth a watch.

    ★★★★½

Great movie. Powerful acting by Bryan Cranston and peculiar yet gripping story. My only advice is don't watch the trailer or read the synopsis, just watch it and be surprised how story unfolds. Strongly recommend

  • Glass

    Glass

    ★★★½

Great finale to a unique and interesting take on a currently overcrowded genre.

Although it's definitely not the best of the "trilogy", the acting is pretty good (especially James McAvoy and his umpteen characters) and the story packs just enough punch to keep you entertain till the satisfying conclusion. Mr M.night did a great job with these films and doesn't get enough praise for them. Glass did well to wrap things up... But curiously, I hope there is more to come.

P.S. If you haven't seen Unbreakable and Split definitely check them out.

  • Captain Marvel

    Captain Marvel

    ★★½

Typical Marvel stuff. Fun and entertaining but not as super duper as the titular heroes. But I must admit that Captain Marvel is a great addition to the hero roster, and I like how Brie Larson plays the role. Worth a watch and definitely gets you primed for Avengers Endgame.

  • Collateral Beauty

Soppy sop sop sop. BUT I can't deny that I enjoyed it. Definitely recommending this to my mum.

  • The Lost City of Z

    The Lost City of Z

    ★★★★

Beautifully shot, awe inspiring, and rich with imagery . Some how this movie captures the in the innate beauty and danger of the jungles of amazon, and the mettle (or madness) required of the movies main character to explore such regions.

Regardless of how truthful the story is, the movie is joy to watch, with fantastic cinematography, stellar acting, and a simple yet immersive plot. Definitely worth a watch.

  • Full Metal Jacket

    Full Metal Jacket

    ★★★★½

"Is that you John Wayne? Is this me?"

Loved the line although I have no clue what it means. Loads of iconic lines in this great movie, with a very grim portrayal of a marines experience of the Vietnam War. Definitely worth a watch even if its just to get some great qoutables.
