I don't think you're as responsible for this as you think you are
Murphy's Law in movie form. An electrifying, phosphorescent (and acid-watered) journey to the end of the night, which starts with a calamitous robbery and continues with a desperate nosedive into increasing catastrophe. Maximum realism even in unpleasant violence; a humanist portrait of the marginality of the American lower class; a moving story of brotherly love; an anxiety-inducing expedition through the fast pulse of the nervous city, with a dizzying synthetic score. The emotional relief of the final moments is directly proportionate to the intense investment we have in the success of the mission we don't want to see succeed. Masterpiece.
