The erotic thiller is a dying (if not already dead) art form. Often exploitative or toothless in equal measure. Films about expressing repressed desires, discovering ones sexual identity/proclivities or that study voyeurism and sexual shame are rarely handled with much care. It is rare to find a film in this genre that while definitely a little gratitious and self-indulgent, has a very sex-positive theme, especially in relation to women.

It just feels like a retread of the previous film. They even reset Violet's arc from the end of the last film. This one also ends in the same place the last one did and it feels like the family had made no progress since the last outing. The movie felt like more of a victory lap than a story that needed to be told.
