Horror enthusiast. I keep my reviews short because ain’t nobody got time~
I don’t wanna spoil anything by comparing this to the movies that clearly had influence on it. But I’ll say this film is deeper than it appears on a surface level, and I personally feel the character formulas here were super intentional, to the point of being self-aware and humorous. There’s some GORE. There’s also awesome shots, giallo-influenced lighting and attire, and a pretty awesome film score. Don’t let the haters talk you out of this one!
Also, someone please tell me I’m not alone in the bad guy reminding them of the character Voldo from the video game Soulcalibur. I LOVED that!
Disturbing in unexpected ways. I had a sense of isolation and dread, which I imagine was not easy to accomplish in this bright outdoor setting. I was totally impressed with the lead’s acting, as well as the believability of the dialogue especially between her and her boyfriend. I probably won’t ever feel the need to watch this one again, despite how brilliant.
Also, there’s better ways to break up with a shitty boyfriend lol
