Seventh short film in the Rue Morgue Little Terror event. This is a Christmas horror short that has a twist we’ve seen before but I like the setup in this w/the party and home invader. Def one to consider adding to your *festive* horror playlist around the holidays.

Would definitely classify this as a top discovery of 2020. A totally bananas Italian family Christmas adventure fantasy science fiction flick. Not even sure how to describe this wonderful mess of a movie. So much is going on and it changes tone on a dime. Just read that synopsis! It's kind of like its own weird Wizard of Oz. Wish it had a decent (or any) release so it could be properly shown at a movie night. Fun movie to end the year.

I get the charm and novelty of this Hammer/Shaw mash-up but I wouldn’t classify this as a better representation from either studio. However, together they’ve found a unique balance. In essence 1+1=3 in this case. The fighting scenes aren’t great and the Hammer elements only serve to drive the plot. Neither executed very well but combined it becomes an entertaining watch. Fun to see Peter Cushing so active in fighting the vampires. Plenty of replay value.

My new favorite film of Fantastic Fest. Essential viewing not just for Jodo fans but anyone who loves art, music and/or film. If you create, you must see this this.
