Where has this movie been?! I wish I had seen this when it first came out.

It’s poetic and hard-hitting and honest in the best possible way. Despite growing up together, it is interesting to see how differently Collin and Miles are treated and treat other people. It’s also funnier than I expected it to be, and is definitely something that I would watch again and recommend.

Everything I expected it to be! The performances are really what stand out. Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac are phenomenal, have great chemistry, and work so well together. I would love for them to do more things together since they’ve known each other for so long. The way it explores relationships, particularly with characters that are in their 40s, is so interesting to me. Neither of the characters are perfect, but there is undeniable but messy chemistry between them.

The chemistry between the characters and the action were the best elements of the film. I LOVE Florence Pugh even more! The villain was a great threat, but he didn’t have much of an appearance and didn’t feel exciting enough in some moments. Also is it just me that thought the CGI in those final action sequences was a bit off?

Anyway, it is still an enjoyable MCU film. I love that it was directed by a woman, and had so many more female characters than male characters - which is rare in an MCU film, let alone an action film.

What can I say? It’s my favourite movie of all time.

River, what can I say about you that millions of other people haven’t said.

Rob Reiner - his direction is the best thing about this film. He understood whilst still keeping to the novella. He made everyone comfortable with the material and made it personal to him.

Its themes are so universal in the simplistic but powerful ways they are explored.

Stephen King said that this film was the first completely successful adaptation of his work. And, for me, it’s not hard to see why…
