Sion’s review published on Letterboxd:
My heart has been lifted and shattered at the same time. I don’t know how that’s possible, but it just is.
I like that no-one is to blame for a relationship ending. We all just have a narrative in our life, and it’s not anybody’s fault if we can’t make our narrative meet somebody else’s. Add top of that an operating system with her own personality and consciousness. There are things in Theodore and Samantha’s relationship that would and would not be the same as relationships with two humans, and realising this makes the film so unique for delving into relationships in this way.
I love Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams in this film. The writing is obviously marvellous, and the cinematography and music really capture all the themes and central intention of the film.
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THIS FILM!
