Beautiful... only Scorsese can make a compelling epic film, where spectators get so involved with the plot and cast that they forget the passage of time. A huge highlight from his career and for De Niro, Pacino and Pesci.
This film's best accomplishment is creating a terrifying worldview where language is constrained to its most fundamental and transactional purposes. Every dialogue exchange replicates despair and isolation. Nearly flawless and even better with subsequent views.
