this is literally the only movie to exist ever. No movie in the world impacts me emotionally the same way this movie does. It will always, always be my favorite.

what’s tim burton’s scariest movie and why is it this one???
Anyways I HAVE to give this movie five stars bc i watched it so many times as a little kid, it’s the source of so many family memes, and it made me realize as a kid that even when I’m an adult I can have lots of toys and things?? Very special and funny film imo!!

I said this on twitter but I wanna say it here too β€” I really respect the fact that Spike set out to just make a really long movie. The thing I hate about biopics these days is how they all fall into the same exact formula because they’re all so short. This movie’s pacing is GOLDEN and it includes just enough information about every facet of Malcolm X’s life, with clear parallels being drawn with the beginning of the movie and the end of the movie. In my opinion, it’s the best biopic ever made β€” or at least the best I’ve seen so far.
