When this film plays into how insanely stupid this concept is it is fucking brilliant. I was practically on the floor whenever the news program came on and covered a horrible tragedy with many deaths (you know like actual news) for like 5 seconds and then instantly transitions to talking about robocop talking to kids for a much longer segment. The satire in this film is hilarious. But unfortunately they didn’t stick to that for a lot of the film. It seems like they made a stupid action sci-fi and then realized how dumb it was so they went back and added some satire. When the film is more serious it becomes pretty tedious. The action is pretty uninspired despite the hilarious amount of gore and the complete lack of respect for bullet wounds. When this film works it really works but unfortunately it really dragged for me in the second half.
