While Trainspotting tackles very heavy topics such as hard substance abuse, addiction, and the associated traumas; it succeeds in artfully portraying an experiential story that doesn’t overtly vilify its characters or plea for the redemption of their equivocal behaviors. Instead, there is room for nuance and ponderation in understanding the circumstances and intersections of drug use, poverty, crime, life, friendship, etc.

This was a simple, charming, and cozy film to watch - especially since it’s set in a scenic harbor town in Connecticut during Autumn. A great way to commemorate the crisp Autumn air that is beginning to replace the summer heat.

This adventurous story was somehow predictable, while also being confusing, boring, and incredibly unrealistic at times.
This was a great ensemble cast and I did find joy in the fact the the final survivors where not just the white people, but instead the Hispanic woman 👩🏻🦱 a Black man 🧑🏾 and a Ginger man 🧑🏻🦰 - (three archetypes who typically die first in these tales)
