Not having read the book I don't know if the structure of the film follows the same but I find that the structure in this format is the films biggest hinderance and is a main reason why I don't review the film higher. In the first 10 minutes we are introduced to Berdadette in a kayak in Antartica and through voiceover we learn the emotional state of the characters we are about to watch.
