The Manor explored lots of things we find terrifying, losing your mind, not being believed, no longer being acknowledged in old age, and it did it well. It just wasn't particularly different or gripping for me.
Really into the creature design and the interiors in some of those rooms though, very nice.
Glad to have caught the advanced screening!
Haha, what a movie. It's probably helpful to go into this not expecting something serious or scary, but the opening scene makes it pretty obvious.
Malignant is a lot of fun, but I wouldn't call it a masterpiece. The set designs and magnificent camera tracking sold me alone. I really appreciate the excessive nods to different horror genres that are jammed into it, and how self aware the whole thing is.
I just don't LOVE it, but certainly appreciate it.
