Monster Hunter

Monster Hunter

Definitely one I wish I could’ve seen in theaters. I’ll always disagree with the 20 cuts per second editing style in the hand to hand stuff and I do wish there were some extra light sources during the nighttime crab people stuff. But I had a damn good time watching this. Some of the real world landscapes on display are jaw dropping. Didn’t expect that to be so stunning in such a vfx heavy movie. But it created a great foundation (along with a few practical sets. The black goo cocoons especially). And I had a lot of fun with the actual monster hunting (those top down zoom outs really did it for me). This was a blast. Genuinely one of my favorites from Paul W.S.
