Steven Cohen’s review published on Letterboxd:
Something about the glimpses I had seen of it made me worry that Possessor would be too edgy for my taste, but it really checked all of my boxes. Perhaps it relishes in its gore a little more than it needs to, but those flashes really are quite shocking. Brandon Cronenberg takes a pretty straightforward idea - inserting one's consciousness into another's body for nefarious purposes - but executes it masterfully. The movie looks incredible, and Christopher Abbott and Andrea Riseborough give pretty masterful performances. Comparing Cronenberg's work to his father's is a useless exercise, but I find myself doing it anyway, and Possessor really hit with me in a way that David Cronenberg's movies often just miss.
