Really fascinating to see how huge the advances in dramaturgy and film scoring developed in just a few years following this movie.

A bit hard to follow when used to newer standards in storytelling, but it's a movie I now appriciate having wathed.

This movie caught my attention by randomly coming across a museum i downtown Vienna dedicated to this movie some years ago now. Very facinating museum, definitely recommended a visit if nearby!

This would have been a much better movie, had they not insisted on keeping the norwegian names, and instead focused on making the dialogue and character names sound natural.

An emotional rollercoaster I did not expect. Saw this without knowing anything about it. Fantastic performance by Willem Dafoe.
