With Gabe 🕺
I wasnt really vibing with the first 20 minutes. I had a fear that the film would fall flat on it's face. But once Borat's daughter is introduced, the film takes on its exact purpose. To make the audience cringe and laugh at the audacity of American culture.
Yes, these last four years have been hell. But, I think this film really shows the true absurdity of America. There are some interviews and situations that don't fly well for my tastes but, that's okay. Sasha Baron Cohen knows how to go deep into satirizing taboos like feminism, politics and sexuality.
The best moments all come with Borat and his daughter together playfully fucking over american practices. Easily the best scene was the Rudy Giuliani stunt. That's alone seals the deal.
I do think there are some dreadful moments pertaining to the narrative but, immediately we go back to the great interview/stunt scenes.
Overall, I thought this was really enjoyable and made my day. This definitely made up for his last shitty films The Dictator and The Brother's Grimsby.
