Perfect! I had this at 4 1/2 stars but I’M BUMPIN IT UP!!! 3rd time around and it only gets BETTER!
Listen, if this one bores you, I get it. First time around, I was in high-school and I fell asleep like 45 minutes in lol. Here’s what I focused on with my second viewing:
1. The scale - Just appreciate the magnitude of the visuals Brotha Stan is putting on screen. Nothing, except for the humans, feels small. The spaceships! The planets! The little baby monkeys! All feel MASSIVE! Sure they’re big in size but I mean just the FEEL of all of these components when they’re on the screen. Feel the WEIGHT of them! AHHHH!!!!!!!!!
2. The SCARY PARTS!!! - It’s so creepy! Don’t forget it! The HAL stuff provides some spooky space supplements and you’ll shake your finger at him but the MONOLITH is where it’s at. How can you be bored with what Kubrick brought in those scenes? Boo 2! A Madea Halloween can’t do that!!!
3. Put yourself in their shoes - Just imagine being these characters. You wouldn’t be so bored then!!!
