Very belatedly watched for my assignment from Nathaxnne's If U Want I Will Assign U A Movie 2 Watch From The Phantom Of The Movies’ VIDEOSCOPE (2000) Which I Extracted From My Ex’s Basement . In my defense, I also had to watch the first Fright Night as I hadn't seen it previously!
So, yeah. I'm going to break with most of the reactions I've seen and say that I actually enjoyed this dramatically more than the first one! And I did like the first one, which is a lot of fun aside from having a serious case of Protagonist Less Interesting Than Everyone Else syndrome. Which is funny because he's actually dramatically more interesting in the sequel! Partially because I decided rather early in the movie that he needed to be a dude in distress, and while I think the movie could've gone a bit farther in this regard, it didn't entirely fail to heed my wishes! It even mirrored the first film's charmingly awkward sexy dancing with him as the "victim."
