Jay-r Trinidad’s review published on Letterboxd:
Ayer got lost in the stream of the supposed ridiculousness of a gamble for an "unknown" superhero group. While the film was worthy with its marketing, the actual experience can easily be summarized to "summary".
Quick splices of scenes with no intention to tell a story, Suicide Squad was in a hurry. It gives you glimpses of supposed wow moments that leads nowhere and it tries to cramp up the story line of everyone - the narration is too cold and Arnold's Mr. Freeze seemed a bit hotter.
I suppose the 5-hour director's cut could give justice to this wasted opportunity.
